A friend of mine suggested we try cheese making. What a great idea. To make hard cheese you need a press though. Before I started ripping up the cherry wood I thought I better proof of concept with scrap 1x2 that was lying around. Behold my class 2 lever. 4 liters of water (9 lbs) is showing up as 48 lbs when it is 5 times the distance out from the fulcrum. Allowing for the wood and inaccuracy of the scale I think it is working fine. I have holes at 2x, 3x, 3.5x, 4x, 4.5x and 5x so getting the various weights will be fine. Now to build a pretty one.
